Reflections from a small office with a big view

2025

As the year winds down, I’ve been reflecting on how connected I feel—despite spending most days in a 162-square-foot office with only a wiener dog for company. The clients, collaborators, and partners I work with have become an extended community, reminding me daily that meaningful work doesn’t require shared space—just shared purpose.

This year was a doozy by almost any measure. But creative consulting—whether it’s writing copy, mapping a user journey, or building a content strategy—offers me something rare: glimpses into corners of industry and society that few get to see. It reminds me that even when the world feels chaotic, there are quiet forces of good at work.

Practice

meets

purpose

While floodwaters rose across Washington, I thought of the people working in our city and county to advance green stormwater infrastructure.

As Indigenous lands and cultural sites faced new threats, I found hope in immersive media creators using XR to tell their stories—and in clients like Agog who support and elevate that work.

When vital public programs were on the chopping block, I thought about those at HUD providing housing counseling to first-time homebuyers and families recovering from hardship.

When the global commodities market was rattled by uncertainty, I thought of the domestic farmers and producers who keep food and industrial ingredients flowing—quietly resilient, profoundly essential.

And as communities of color continue to be targeted by violence and injustice, I think of the work we did with Sounders FC and Puget Sound Energy—pairing joy, sport, and savings to bring energy efficiency programs to Spanish-speaking households.

Thank you!

This work—creative strategy, storytelling, systems thinking—may look like a list of capabilities. But for me, it’s a privilege. A front-row seat to human ingenuity. A chance to listen, translate, and amplify work that’s quietly changing the world.

Thank you for being part of my vista.

Here’s to more wonder, more good work, and more reasons to stay curious in the year ahead.

With gratitude,
